Department: Resource Development
Position description: An intern will work directly with the Director of Resource Development, assisting with foundation research, grant writing, budget development, producing a regular English newsletter and taking charge of social media. This is an excellent way for a young man/woman to start building their resume in the non-profit world.
Requirements: Strong writing and editing ability in English; prior experience in the non-profit world; strong interest in social issues; strong interest in resource development, ability to frame ideas and explain abstract concepts.
Hut HaMeshulash provides a safe haven to at-risk youth and young adults in Jerusalem. It helps rehabilitate them, supports them and guides them on a path of reintegration into society as confident, capable and productive individuals.
We run three core projects: an Open Space in the center of Jerusalem, a long-term overnight shelter for young men, and a long-term overnight shelter for young women, many of whom come to us pregnant. Ours is the only program in Israel serving pregnant single women over the age of 18. Hut Hameshulash served 800 teenagers and young adults at risk in the year 2015 alone.
